Valutec’s Gift & Loyalty Card Programs Certified on Hypercom’s Optimum T4100

Market’s #1 Gift/Loyalty Solution Strengthens Terminal’s Appeal to Acquirers & ISOs

PHOENIX, AZ, September 26, 2006 – Hypercom Corporation (NYSE: HYC) and Valutec Card Solutions today announced the Class A certification of Valutec’s market-leading gift and loyalty card products on Hypercom’s high-speed multi-application Optimum T4100 payment terminal. The certification will enable merchant acquirers and Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs) to offer Valutec applications on the T4100 platform alongside their own proprietary credit, debit, EBT or other payment solutions.

Valutec functionality can be deployed on the T4100 in a standalone scenario that provides the flexibility to mix and match payment applications, does not interfere with legacy software, and eliminates the need for software integration. Support for Valutec card programs also leverages the terminal’s ability to process multiple transactions quickly and simultaneously without cashier intervention.

“Hypercom’s T4100 is an ideal platform for our solutions because of its performance, large memory, and ability to handle multi-step transactions quickly and efficiently,” said Crispin Crosswy, Valutec CIO.

“Valutec is one of the leading providers of gift and loyalty programs for small and medium merchants, and this certification represents another important step in building the market for the T4100,” said Lisa Shipley, senior vice president, National Sales, Hypercom Corporation. “The ability to support one of the most popular value-added applications in the industry will increase the appeal of the terminal to acquirers and ISOs, helping to ensure that they will consider the T4100 every time they sell a Valutec program.” .

The Optimum T4100 features a powerful 32-bit, Intel® XScale® processor and 24 megabytes of memory to deliver intelligently integrated multi-application performance and the industry’s fastest transaction speeds for both IP/SSL and dial applications. The unit can perform 250 MIPS (millions of instructions per second) compared to 1.6 MIPS for similar devices and has at least 18 more megabytes of memory, enabling support for more value-added applications than any other terminal on the market.
